Principal Profiles


Michael E. Brand has over twenty-five years experience in real estate and litigation representing clients in the private sector, particularly in real estate and landlord and tenant matters, including eviction controls. He also has extensive experience with HUD-owned and financed properties, interpretation of commercial and residential lease provisions under federal regulations as well as the development of non-discriminatory tenant selection criteria for subsidized housing.

Mr. Brand supervises the firm’s landlord and tenant practice and actively represents business and property owners in a broad spectrum of areas, including commercial leases, residential and commercial purchases, foreclosures and real estate broker disputes.

Mr. Brand received his B.A. from the University of Rochester in 1971 and is admitted to practice before the local and federal courts of the District of Columbia and Maryland. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, he resides in Potomac, Maryland with his wife and two sons.
