Loewinger & Brand, PLLC, and its predecessors,
including Loewinger, Brand & Kappstatter,
Chartered, and Miller, Loewinger and Associates, Chartered, have been engaged
in the active practice of law in the District
of Columbia for over fifty years. The firm
specializes in real estate law and real estate related litigation in the
local and federal courts of the District
of Columbia, and has a substantial estate
administration practice.
Between them, Mr. Loewinger (a 1971 graduate of the Georgetown
University Law
Center) and Mr. Brand (a 1974
graduate of the Columbia School of Law of Catholic University)
have briefed, argued or participated in nearly fifty cases in the DC Court of
Appeals since 1971 alone. The firm has tried numerous cases, both bench
trials and jury trials.
